Barstool has quickly taken the sports betting industry by storm. Shortly after getting involved with Penn National Gaming, they have released their Barstool Sportsbook app that saw over 63k downloads in its first weekend. They have an incredibly unique approach to sports gambling and have claimed the hearts of many following them through their gambling journeys.
Now, you’ll be able to bet with all your favorite Barstool people in the new Barstool Sportsbook room at Greektown Casino. What gave it away? The giant “Opening Soon” banner on a closed off room with a Barstool logo next to it. When talking with someone working closely with the project, they stated they were instructed to take down the banner in “four weeks,” which most likely means construction will be done and it will be ready to open.
Dave Portnoy, Founder of Barstool Sports, touched on what he has in store for Greektown in an early 2020 interview, “We want to bring the first high end sportsbook club to Greektown, like bottle service, all that jazz. They have a great space in there, so we really want to make this a go-to destination.” Could this be what he was talking about?
